SCHOOL GOAL
The goal of the Nancy B. Jefferson Alternatives School(NBJ), located inside the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center, is to provide consistent, high-quality education and restorative support for detained youth. It aims to inspire intellectual growth, prepare students for responsible lives, and facilitate smooth education re-entry
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission at Nancy B. Jefferson Alternative School is to provide standards-based instruction with an integrated social-emotional learning component to meet the diverse educational needs of court-detained youth enrolled for varying lengths of time. The skills and dispositions learned at our school will enhance the students' chances for success when they return to their schools and communities. We commit to a comprehensive interagency system of support to assure this outcome.
